The Vibe

Blind Tiger is the most unapologetically fun winery on the Scenic Sip trail — and it earns that title honestly. Named for the Prohibition-era term for hidden, rule-bending speakeasies, the winery wears its rebellious spirit openly and with genuine charm. Jerry and Charlene Wowchuk have farmed these 3.5 organic acres on the ridge between Okanagan Centre and Winfield since 2007, building a community gathering place that prioritises inclusivity, good times, and organic integrity in equal measure. Free-roaming vineyard chickens patrol the grounds, the smoke from Marno's wood-fired pizza oven drifts across the patio, and on Friday evenings in summer a live performer takes the stage to a crowd that has very clearly made the right choice for the afternoon. This is a winery that knows exactly what it is — and what it is, is a very good time.

The Experience

Blind Tiger doesn't do exclusive experiences — and it says so proudly on its own booking page. Walk-ins are welcome when space allows, and the atmosphere is casual, welcoming, and completely unpretentious from the first pour to the last slice of pizza. The tasting room overlooks the vineyard and Wood Lake beyond, and on a sunny Okanagan afternoon the outdoor courtyard is one of the most genuinely relaxed spots on the entire Scenic Sip trail. The wine slushies are the undisputed highlight for most first-time visitors — refreshing, fun, and perfectly pitched for a warm summer afternoon. Marno's Woodfire Pizza, serving Neapolitan-style pizzas from a real wood-fired oven, rounds out the experience beautifully — the Margherita and Arugula Flatbread paired with a bottle of Pinot Noir on the patio overlooking Wood Lake is a combination that consistently earns rave reviews. The Pawchuterie board — a charcuterie board designed for your dog — is the kind of detail that tells you everything about the spirit of this place.

The Wine

Blind Tiger's certified organic portfolio is built on the winery's 3.5 estate acres, supplemented by carefully sourced South Okanagan fruit for the bigger, bolder red blends. The whites — Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Gewürztraminer — are cool-climate and food-friendly, shaped by the vineyard's elevated ridge position between three lakes. The Giggle Water sparkling blush and the Blind Blend are the most distinctive and conversation-worthy bottles — both carrying the winery's Prohibition-era naming philosophy into your glass with genuine charm. The Speakeasy Red, a Bordeaux-style blend of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, is the flagship of the red program — generous black cherry, vanilla, and a hint of chocolate making it the perfect pairing for a pizza on the patio. The Pinot Noir, produced from estate vines entering their fifteenth season, delivers the strawberry, violet, and vanilla character that cool-climate Lake Country does so beautifully.
