West Kelowna is home to Mission Hill, which makes even those accustomed to visiting Burgundy, or the Napa Valley take a breath. It doesn’t get much more extravagant than a Roman amphitheater, 12 storey bell tower and over 40 commissioned fine art sculptures. The 1992 Mission Hill Chardonnay, which beat the French at one of those prestigious international blind tasting competitions, was arguably the catalyst to 30 wineries in the Okanagan region becoming over 180 in just the last twenty years.
